Wil Wheaton Talks Mental Illness For Project UROK

Do you love Star Trek: TNG? Do you also hate the pervasive stigma attached to mental illness?  Me too. Let’s get lunch and talk about it sometime. For now, Wil Wheaton has made a fantastic video for Project UROK, a non-profit organization that produces helpful and fun content for young people struggling with mental illness. The website is full of awesome videos by everyday users, as well as videos from public figures and the founder of Project UROK herself, Jenny Jaffe (nice name, by the way).

Wil Wheaton is one of the coolest people on the Internet right now, and it’s super awesome that he is sharing something so personal and important with his audience. It also doesn’t hurt that his voice is SO. RELAXING.

Good on you, Wil. You are okay. I am, too. We all are. It's good to be reminded of that.

“You are not the only person in the world who has anxiety. You are not the only person in the world who has depression. You’re not the only person in the world who has thoughts of self-harm. There are people who want to help you. There are people who have spent their entire lives helping people like you and me and all of the people that you’re seeing in this video. And you’re not alone. You are okay.”
