Watch a Bonobo Ape Start a Fire, Roast Marshmallows, Act Like a G

Get ready to feel dumber than a monkey.

This clip from a recent episode of BBC's Monkey Planet shows Kanzi, a bonobo ape, lighting a campfire and roasting marshmallows with ease. So basically, if you've ever had trouble starting a fire or not-burning a marshmallow, this ape is smarter than you.

Adding insult to injury? Kanzi can also apparently use a smartphone to order food, something many inferior Homo sapiens have yet to master. (Or maybe I'm the only one who's accidentally ordered two of the same thing. More than once.)

Take solace, at least, in knowing that bonobos share 98.5% of human DNA and are highly intelligent creatures. And Kanzi is particularly smart.

That said, if he starts doing his taxes without having to Google "itemized vs. standard," or masters the art of leaving the house and remembering his keys, we're going to feel really annoyed/humiliated.
