Watch Forrest Gump Meet Wes Anderson in Clever Movie Mashup

With Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel out in theaters, and on the heels of a recent AMC Forrest Gump marathon, it’s the perfect time for this clever clip that imagines what the opening sequence of Gump would've looked like had it been directed in Anderson's signature quirky style. Gump's bleak aesthetic—including images of the war-torn 1960s—is replaced by rosy colors, geometric lines and, of course, plenty of whimsy. The result is pretty nonsensical, but delightfully so. Plus, the creators wisely stop at the credits. (Alas, the cute factor might go amiss in scenes featuring the Vietnam ambush or bitter tirades of post-amputation Lt. Dan.)

Enjoy!
