This Male Politician Thinks A Woman's Vagina And Stomach Are Connected

Did you guys know that a woman's stomach is totally connected to her vagina?

Weird, right? I mean, really, you would've thought I'd notice by now if . .  .

Oh wait . . . what's this? That's utter lunacy? Idiocy of the lowest order? The stomach and vagina aren't connected?!?!

Somebody better explain that to Republican State Representative Vito Barbieri, a real-life politician involved in actual legislative decisions that totally govern women's bodies. Because during a recent Idaho House State Affairs Committee hearing for a bill that would ban doctors from prescribing abortion-inducing medication through telemedicine, he asked—in what we can only imagine was the utmost earnestness—if women could simply swallow a camera to have doctors perform remote gyno exams.

Dr. Julie Madsen, testifying against the bill, had to then explain that this would be impossible becauseget this!"swallowed pills do not end up in the vagina."

And what pray tell did the committee decide after this epic failure in understanding the female body? To approve the bill, where it now goes to the House floor for a full vote.

Oh, and for the record, Barbieri also sits on the board of a crisis pregnancy center.

That painful revelation gives me stomach pangs. Strangely, my vagina is not affected.
