In the entertainment world, you truly never know which projects might flop . . . and which just might live forever. For a bunch of unknowns in Jersey, a no-budget amateur film called Clerks was simply a way to get some work in. But it turned in to so much more. The black-and-white talkpiece on young adulthood not only scored big laughs, but also ample attention from film festivals, Miramax, and eventually, a generation of like-minded movie lovers.

Clerks not only launched the film career of director Kevin Smith, but also changed the lives of the now-immortalized cast, including NYC native Marilyn Ghigliotti, whose role as "Veronica" encouraged her to move out west in pursuit of more stardom.
