I was so busy making sure that I had a handle on my pain that I didn’t have any extra energy to even consider dating. Pain has a way of narrowing one’s focus, and I was focused on how to handle and decrease my pain — not dating, not even looking.

Before Instagram body positivity (actually before Instagram, period), there was tumblr body positivity. I was lucky enough to take a different turn within tumblr’s maze of angst and anguish: body positivity.

Some people would say my bangs make me look younger and I should grow them out, but I disagree. My bangs don’t magically change my appearance, but my forehead feels naked without them.
